The Beat is an international publication dedicated exclusively to coverage of reggae, African, Caribbean, and World Music.

The Los Angeles-based bi-monthly features regular columns on music from Jamaica, Africa, Latin America and the Spanish-speaking world, Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago (plus the francophone Caribbean), Brazil, and Morocco, plus coverage of music of the London club scene, various reggae news, and world music videos.

The magazine also includes individual reviews of reggae singles, world music CDs, books, and videos, plus features on any of the above. For baffling reasons, The Beat is also home to Bob Tarte's Technobeat column.

Subscriptions for U.S. residents are $20 for 1 year (6 issues). For more information (and for foreign subscription rates), contact getthebeat@aol.com
